Giant Chicken

a giant chicken flew

into this cuckoo's nest

a prank for my sister

from our dad, delivered by air

a cousin packing it thru TSA

Montana to Alaska

creating more laughter

than an average fowl

there is something

about a chicken crossing

state lines and roads

and strutting about

on spindly steel legs

silent and staring off

a hollow head, heartless

no meat to eat

cannot crow, or cluck

yet leaves us all chuckling
